Congratulations to Our Employee of the Month-
Joan Neave!
Joan is the Clinical Nurse Educator for all Rogers’ campuses and has been part of the RMH family since November 2000. She describes her move to RMH after being in the Med-Surg and Home Nursing fields for over 20 years as, “the best career decision I ever made.”
In the past 9 years, Joan has held various pool positions from Inpatient Nurse to House Supervisor before moving into her current position one year ago. As Clinical Nurse Educator, it is her job to assess and respond to education needs of staff as directed by the VP of Nursing. She is in charge of the Skills Fair, teaches Psych 101 to new hires and provides a tremendous amount of training and teaching throughout the organization.
Joan believes that in order to support the RMH mission of offering exemplary care, it is essential to provide resources for staff to acquire knowledge in best practices and keep as current as possible. She supports the mission goals by carefully researching and investigating training literature and collaborating with our internal experts to be sure the materials and training she provides are as current and well-informed as possible.
In her free time, Joan likes traveling, ministry and watching forensic TV shows.
Her future goals and aspirations include being a mentor, possibly returning to school and persuing her interest in forensic nursing.
Here are some quotes from the employees that nominated her:
“[Joan] has gone above and beyond in producing a skills competency fair that not only tests staff knowledge and skills, but also provides education regarding current changes in the organization.“
“This year’s skills fair provided hands-on experiences for the staff. As they went from station to station, they had to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. This was an improvement over last year’s pencil and paper tests.”
“This year’s skills competency fair added to the knowledge base of all the staff and therefore improved the overall quality of care provided to our patients.”
Thank you Joan for your tireless dedication and the outstanding performance you’ve given to Rogers Memorial Hospital!
